The main objective of the Chicago Bicycle Program is to implement the strategies in the Bike 2015 Plan.

The Bike Program designs and installs on-street bikeways, installs and maintains bike parking in the public way, educates bicyclists and motorists to share the road, creates training programs for commercial drivers and police officers, and manages Mayor Daley's Bicycling Ambassadors.

The Bike Program is a section of the Division of Project Development within the Chicago Department of Transportation.
