California girl...living in a beautiful coastal town between Los Angeles and San Diego gives me a lot of photo options. I love to shoot sunsets (doesn't everybody!), people and macros. I'm a novice photographer, an intermediate watercolorist and an expert at irritating my mother.

I love comments - your feedback is really important to me in trying to improve my photography. Any suggestions, tips and critiques are welcome. I recently got an DSLR, a Canon Rebel T1i or 500D - a huge jump! But I don't have any lenses other than the one it came with so I'm still more restricted than I'd like. Still , YAY! I had imagined that once I had a good camera I'd be taking these amazing shots that my family and friends would oggle with delight. Unfortunately, a camera does not a photographer make!

If you have any suggestions as to forums, groups, or challenges I would love to hear them. If you know of any meetups in my area (San Diego, North County) I would be VERY happy to participate. I've been trying to find other local photographers who'd enjoy getting together with other enthusiasts without success.

REVISION: I've added a Canon EF-S 60mm to my kit! Macros Baby!
