Welcome to my Flickr page! I use this primarily as the means to share my own personal (read: non-studio, non-professional) photos with friends and family. Lately, I've been sharing my studio work here as well, though my primary avenue for client proofing as well as my primary online portfolio can be seen on my website, Elysian Photography.

I am a photographer working in the El Paso, TX area who does both client studio work and freelance gigs. I also work as a musician here in town. Being a photographer with some success has given me a wonderful opportunity to remain self employed and pay my bills, though sometimes I think I'd rather give my money to MPEX and Adorama.

When browsing my photostream, keep in mind that you'll see some pro studio photos mixed in with my weekend snapshots, sometimes taken by my kids or my wife. Like I said, my complete online portfolio is on my own website, so please don't lump the two categories together and start critiquing my snapshots as you would my studio work. While I love that other Flickrites can critique each other's work, let's keep the distinction between snapshots and pro photographs clear. That being said, I welcome any comments and constructive criticism on my studio photos.

Now, about my buddy icon. I am NOT a communist, or a Marxist, or Stalinist, or any other political equivalent of those. I am a revolutionary thinker, or at least, I am not afraid to say what people are thinking but are too inhibited by convention or political correctness to say what is really on their minds. I move people into action, and believe that sometimes revolution or revolutionary thought is necessary to wake people up out of complacency. That is all. It is a satirical image, nothing more.
