Look back almost three years in Katia's stream and you'll find a shot called "Long way home…." None of it is in focus - and for that very reason it works brilliantly. That's the point, Katia is brave enough to risk failure when she shoots and when she posts, and when she succeeds, we're privileged to view some of the most imaginative street photography………anywhere. . We both live in London so I've been lucky enough to see Katia in action on photowalks - just glimpses though, I've never known a street photographer who can disappear so quietly and quickly into the city throng - a real artist at work - and a great friend too.

Her street scenes are full of sensibility, poetry and they are filled with emotions. Her camera looks at people in a very emotional, subtle and tender way. She often sees what other people forget to look at. And often her pictures have a nice sense of humour. To my eyes Katia is a real street poet. One should explore her stream, follow her on her endless walks through the city of London, through Turkey, through Ukraine. I wanted to write something clever but as I am very new to photography and flickr I don't know how inspiring this testimonial will be. I would like to say that the reason I took up photography was to capture all of the things I see in life that I try to share with others. For example things like the snow falling on a Christmas Eve and all of the things that would go with a moment like that. Those moments can actually be caught on camera, however it is very difficult to do. Once in a while you will see a photo that says what you feel or captures a moment you keep with you forever. Che-burashka (Katia) captures those things perfectly. I found myself one night looking through her photostream and wanting to tag just about all of them as my favourites. I realized that I should probably try to capture those things for myself if I could. Nevertheless, her photographs are by far the most wonderful moments I have never been able to capture for myself...
