Retired now after 14 years in the Navy and 21 years at Intel. Always liked photography but I was mostly messing around not too serious, but the last couple of years I started getting more serious and actually working at getting the fundamentals down. I have several decent older camera's that I like to use, they are Olympus OM-D M10ii, E300, E510 and Stylus tough TG-6/ Nikon D90, D40, and D5000/ Canon EOS 20D and 450D. All of these were purchased thru eBay or Goodwill except the E300 and TG-6 that were bought new. I figure that these will give me a good working knowledge of a camera's usage so that if/when I can get a new modern camera I'll be able to start up with no issues. I had a Nikon D5300 and some nice lenses but it was stolen by our movers along with a couple of other items, unfortunately $1,000 deductible so it wasn't worth the insurance claim and the police put thefts on the back burner if the loss wasn't over $2,500.

Also I've been doing visual Astronomy for 15 plus years and have several telescopes from 200mm/F5 to 80mm/F5, some are computer controlled on German Equatorial mounts that are suitable for Astrophotography, but this is down the road as there is a lot post processing.

I'm learning my way around Photoshop, Lightroom, ACDsee, InPixio 12, Pixelmator Pro, and somewhat around GIMP (useful for Astrophotography).

I'm open to any helpful hints and criticism.

PS: Just got a Nikon D3200, Samsung NX11, & Canon T1i from Goodwill online sales sites. So far so good as it's a crap shoot if they'll work or not...I've had three that were duds.
