the charla BLUE story

Hello! I'm Charla with charla BLUE photography in Long Beach, California. Thank you for stopping by and checking out my photography. Turquoise is my signature color and my husband affectionately named it “charla blue” (ever heard of "Tiffany Blue"?), thus the inspiration behind my photography name.

I have spent my life taking, sharing, and creating picture projects. I am a high school Spanish teacher by day and photographer by night. I stumbled upon photography from a love of travel and trying to capture each magical moment abroad. On a recent trip to Europe I became inspired by photography and thought to myself, I'd love to do this for a living. I returned home and within a couple of weeks, I launched www.charlablue.com and bought my first DSLR.

I'm a complete novice and have jumped into this head first. I'd love your comments, critiques, kudos, etc. Anything to help me improve my craft.

Thank you to all the wonderful photographers on Flickr that have provided me with inspiration, ideas, and the "how to". Check out my favorites...you'll be impressed too.

On another note, I'm also a wife, Spanish teacher, cheer coach, and world wide traveler!
