CGIAR is a global research partnership for a food-secure future. The CGIAR System Organization was established in accordance with a CGIAR System Charter that took effect on 1 July 2016. There is no new legal entity. Rather, the System Organization builds on the existing legal personality of the CGIAR Consortium.
