After the books “Historia de un sueño” and “Catedrales Olvidadas. La Red Nacional de silos en España, 1949-1990”, I am involved again in the photography world.

In the first book, I had the opportunity to follow the works of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and it offered me the challenge to explore the incredible changing spaces in this fantastic building during its construction. The second book, as a result of my PhD eventually finished in 2008, reflects a graphic, theoretical and personal interpretation of the silos as fascinating constructions, which were not made by architects. This work is a special kind of tribute to the engineers who created these buildings in particular, and for all the anonymous architecture in general. In this research I counted on the help of my friend and professional photographer Luis Prieto, who interpreted my ideas about the pictures of the silos.

Recently, I have again felt the call of photography, specially when I got to know the work of my good friend Alfonso Batalla (who now acts as my master, being very hard for both……). I admire his work about the derelict buildings, his special perception of the space and lately his touch of surrealism.

With my Nikon D700, and since april 2012 with D800, and the Nikkor lenses 14-24 mm 2.8 G ED, 24-70 mm 2.8 G ED, 70-200 mm 2.8 IIG ED and 24 mm 3.5 D ED PC-E, tripod and always without flash for the moment, I try to shoot in singular places based in neglected industrial buildings and in buildings under construction.

I enjoy walking around the river of Bilbao and visiting the past industrial heritage in this area of the north of Spain.

I love architecture and photography with a specific and personal perception about the relationship between them. I enjoy feeling the power of abandoned industrial spaces and the capacity for infinite suggestion of the spaces under construction. I will enjoy sharing the pics in flickr and looking at yours.

Cesar es un alumno diligente y trabajador incansable, con lo que es de esperar una evolucion favorable, una vez se descargue de lo superfluo como las zapatillas de ballet blancas o la bufanda pasionaria. Cesar pretends to be my pupil and calls me master, but dont be fooled by it. As far as I keep on taking him to abandoned places, showing some photoshop tricks to him and praising nikon lenses I shall be considered his teacher. As the pupil he pretends to be, he is eager at shooting and fast and furious with his elementary (and lazy) porcessing: I am sure he is going to improve if he is able to do his homerwork on a regular basis
