I am a retired professional photographer, (C&G and LBIPP) after a life-time of photography, first as an amateur from the age of 10, trained as a Quantity Surveyor, and then doing photography first with Consulting Engineers and then in the University of Bristol.

Initially in the Medical School and the BRI, then much more happily in the RWA School of Architecture till its sad closure in a round of "economy" cuts, followed by a spell in the Social Sciences until retirement.

Now once again an amateur in a local camera club in the Gordano Valley - Portishead Camera Club Portishead Camera Club Am currently half-way through an enjoyable 3 years stint as chairman.

In the past, used Edina 35mm, Zeiss Contaflex SLR, Miranda F SLR, Horseman 690, a pair of Nikon F2 Photomic, Sinar F 5x4 monorail camera, MPP Mk8 5x4, and 120 roll film, Fuji S7000 (now replaced by the S8000 as the management's camera). Currently am using a Nikon D200 and D700, with an Epson 1440 printer with Fotospeed continuous ink-flow, Adobe Photoshop CS4, Bridge and Lightroom. Also have the Gimp (Linux and Win versions). The film cameras and wet darkroom still tug at my heart-strings to do some real photography.

Some photos now are taken on a Samsung Galaxy S2 smart phone, having an 8Mp built-in camera!
