Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Florida, researching the charismatic leaf-footed bugs (Insecta: Hemiptera: Coreidae) and their relatives. You might also know leaf-footed bugs by other common names, such as squash bugs or cactus bugs.
This account was created to show some of the diversity all over the world, as well as to provide a means for others to verify or provide species identifications for those bugs I'm having some trouble identifying. I thank you in advance if you offer an identification.
I'm also seeking any new leaf-footed bug specimen donations from all over the world. If you are interested in donating samples, please know that these must be preserved in one of three fluids: hand sanitizer, propylene glycol, or >90% ethanol. Note that shipping samples in ethanol must follow very specific and restrictive instructions because it is a highly flammable substance.
