Sid's portraiture is very unique. He uses light in such a way that seperates his work from your everyday portrait photographers. Sid is not only a great photographer...he is a great teacher. His easy-going manner really sets you at ease, making you feel like you're all on one big team, just trying to get the shot. In Sid's words "anything for the shot..." I attended one of Sid's workshops (check out portableportrait.com), which was just great. Sid struck a great balance between some of the technical information required to understand off camera lighting with small speedlights and just "getting out and shooting." If you are looking to understand or improve your knowledge of lighting, off camera flash work, or the whole "strobist" thing and you are in the New England area, I would highly recommend getting in touch with Sid.
