Founded on August 2, 2004, Chivas USA celebrated their inaugural season as a Major League Soccer expansion team in 2005. The Red-and-White first qualified to the Playoffs a year later with Bob Bradley as Head Coach. In 2007, playing under Predrag Radosavljevic—a.k.a. Preki, the team won their first trophy when they clinched the Western Conference Title. The Goats have reached the Playoffs four times since its inception, and participated in a major international tournament in the SuperLiga 2008. On Aug. 29, 2012, Jorge Vergara and Angelica Fuentes became complete owners of Chivas USA, acquiring the remaining 50% from former partners. After one-and-a-half years at the helm of the club, Major League Soccer announced on Feb. 20, 2014 that the League purchased Chivas USA from the Vergara-Fuentes family.
