My principal interest with regards photography is the sociocultural aspects of all sport, but particularly non-League football (soocer) and the settings in which the match takes place: the grounds and minutiae within, and the spectators themselves. Rather that sit on the touchline for ninety minutes with a long lens trained on the action, I prefer to move around the ground during a match in order capture the essence of the occasion from a spectator's point-of-view.

I have published three books: 'The Non League Football Grounds of Sussex' (2003), 'Dugouts' (2006), and 'A Season Of Sussex Soccer' (2008), the latter with Terry Buckman.

In 2009 I successfully completed a Masters degree in Sport, Culture and Society at Chelsea School (University of Brighton). My dissertation was entitled 'Hopping Mad or Serious Leisure? - A Study of Groundhopping Subculture'.

My photographs have been featured in numerous publications including 'Groundtastic' (UK), 'Stopper' (Sweden), '11 Freunde' (Germany), and 'Concrete Wave' (US); as well as The Mail On Sunday, Four Four Two, When Saturday Comes and Time Out.

In July 2011 I received a Football Supporters' Federation award for 'Amateur Photographer Of The Year'

I am also interested in photographing landscape, architecture, and the environment.
