With its major exhibition on the work of Ai Weiwei (23 September 2016–22 January 2017), Palazzo Strozzi is to be used for the very first time as a single exhibition space comprising the façade, the courtyard, the Piano Nobile and the Strozzina.

Contemporary art is coming up from the Strozzina and spreading its wings both as an exhibition and in terms of communication, in a scenario in which Palazzo Strozzi is playing an active role in the artistic avant-garde of our own day.

To celebrate this novelty, all the Ai Weiwei. Libero exhibition's photos and the photos depicting future exhibitions and activities devoted to contemporary art will be found on our main account @palazzostrozzi

The Centre for Contemporary Culture Strozzina was born in 2007, as part of the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi, with the intention to give the city of Florence an international contemporary art centre devoted to produce and show thematic exhibitions, following an interdisciplinary approach linked to the most recent scientific researches and that look forward different aspects of the contemporary culture.
