Clementine had three outstanding warrants, none of which were for violent crimes. As the deputy DA I tried to tell her that her days of stealing tractors to participate in the street races were probably over. As an adventure junkie, she had such a competitive spirit, and when she raced her stolen John Deere's against the boys Chevys, she always lost, but looked good doing it. At the trial she took probation over jail time, and part of that probation was to take hundreds of photos of the world around her, as well as beautiful self portraits and have them emailed to the judge directly. Many of us had a sneaking suspicion that the judge had the hots for Clem, but none of us had the bravado to call him out on it. She sent me a few of her works and I was amazed by her attention to detail, processing and use of lighting. I was very fortunate to find her here on Flickr, as the street races just hasn't been the same without her.
