I've been looking at Chris's work since the old days and try to never miss a posting. While so many of us (and me, too) are following the path of Photoshop-to-photo illustration, Chris follows the classic route. Like Adams, he'll get up early to catch the light; he'll stay up late to catch the lack of it. He frames each shot and leaves me with the feeling that a crop is something he uses if he rides a horse, not something he does after the shot is taken. A clear eye and a clear idea of what he wants us to see; we're lucky to have him share that vision of time and place with us.
