Florent captured my attention when he posted photographs from my own country, the Philippines. His photos were simple and sensitive, words that are hard to come by considering that the pictures he took stands besides hundreds of other photographs I have seen (and have taken myself) of some of those same scenes here in the Philippines. However, it possessed that simplicity and sensitivity which drew me to the person. Florent's own photostream is awesome, to say the least, showing technical expertise (he is a professor of theoretical thermodynamics and optics, among others) with the sensitivity of a student of the world. His photographs are not trophies of a conquistador but little souvenirs of a child who has discovered a new world. I would like to invite all to journey and discover that world in Florent's photostream.
