I was born and raised in northeastern Illinois, in the Chicago suburbs. In May of 2008, I graduated from Wheaton College (west of Chicago) with a degree in Biology and a minor degree in Music. Then, I moved to the beach South Carolina to work as a naturalist at an environmental education camp.
I shoot with a Canon Rebel XTi, and my favorite lens is my canon 50mm f1.4. My ability and inspiration to take a "good" picture is something that in my view, comes and goes randomly, and without warning. In this respect, I try to go with the flow. I'm highly encouraged by Ansel Adam's quote: "Twelve significant photographs in any one year is a good crop".
In 2008 I took on a 52 weeks self portrait project, and in 2009 I tackled a photo-a-day 365 project (see my sets). Both ventures pushed me a lot as a photographer, but I still have sooo much room to grow.
Other than that, I love singing, science, reading, scrapbooking, playing games, and hearing stories. I also try to keep up a blog, which includes some of my pictures as well as other musings.
Please do not take, use, or blog any of my photos without first asking permission. Thank you!
