Castlebar Order of Malta - Providing Ambulance Services and First Aid Training for the Community of Castlebar for 68 years.

Castlebar Order of Malta was founded in 1943.The First Officer in charge was Captain John Lynn.They held their meetings in the Gate Lodge of the Military Barracks, Castlebar.The Current Officer in Charge is Tom Jennings.Tom Became O/C after the Passing of Captain John Cunningham in 2008.His dedication to the unit is greatly missed.

Castlebar Order of Malta has a very strong cadet unit with 42 cadets this year.There are over 30 members in the senior unit

We provide Event Medical Cover to many Events in Castlebar including, GAA games in Mc Hale Park, Soccer games in MileBush Park, Junior Tour Bike Race and many more..We also do Patient Transfers when requested.

The Order of Malta Forms part of the integrated Emergency Medical Services – EMS - at Major Public Events.

#Event Medical Cover: Ambulance, First Aiders (from Basic First Aiders to Paramedics), First Responder Bike Unit.

We can also draw on regional resources of another 10+ Frontline Ambulances 4x4 Ambulance and Mini Buses.

#Public First Aid Training: Basic First Aid, Cardiac First Responder, Occupational First Aid.

#Community Care Project for Senior Citizens of the Castlebar and Surrounding Areas.

#Cadet Unit (10 - 16 year olds).

# Other Community Activities: Helping the Blood Bank with Basic Catering. Helping Local Charities with Fundraising e.g Castlebar Lions Club St Vincent De Paul Food Appeal.
