I find I am most excited when I photograph everyday details—some would call them minutia—and give them their own, individual context. Knowing that The Shot (capital “T,” capital “S”) can be anywhere at anytime is very appealing. It may come in the form of an out-of-commission train car, a hand-lettered sign on a lonely country road, or the flaking but vivid paint on an alley dumpster. I love to discover the elements of a scene that make me think, hm, I like that. Ideally, others will like it as well.

Such a wonderful eye John has for the mundane, the boring, the normal, the ordinary, the blah, the meh, the plainjane, the dull and the pointless. He takes ALL THIS CRAP and makes it all NOT CRAP. I love his photostream and stalk it often. I suggest you (yes, YOU) do the same.

Sean Connery and Burt Reynolds were talking the other day about how awesome this guy is. That must mean he is super freakin' awesome. I know I think so. He's also very supportive of others and a genuinely nice guy. RESPECT THE AWESOME, PEOPLE.
