Carrie’s work has served as an enormous inspiration for me throughout my attempt at photography. She is incredibly adept at finding hidden beauty in the simple and mundane, then coaxing it gently into brilliance. Her gift for drawing out the austere loveliness in pen tips or a sill-perched pincushion steals my breath and leaves me aching to attain even a trace of similar talent. It hasn’t been this ability, alone, that has been such a strong source of support and motivation. Despite the fact that her work is stunningly stellar – allowing in every way for an aloof approach to the novice - Carrie embraced and encouraged my stumbling attempt at photography from the very beginning. She unfailingly prompted my attempts, even when they were embarrassingly poor, consistently offering me nothing but enthusiastic praise and constructive criticism. She is very much the reason I continued to try – a truth I offer with enormous gratitude. I look forward with great anticipation to every photo Carrie creates and shares and feel incredibly fortunate to call her both a faithful muse and wonderful friend.
