I got my first camera when I was 20 and I've been framing my experiences ever since. (Curiously the camera was Russian, a chunky Zenith which clunked and clinked and I remember wondering how America could be so scared of a nation whose technical achievements included anything so badly designed.)
One day I went out and spent my last pennies on an Olympus OM1,
A Ladies Camera... the man in the shop sneered at me.
I loved it. Light and beautifully balanced with it's two lens. One wide, one macro. It became part of me. I took it everywhere for years and years, till it was so bashed about, it finally became so unreliable I had to sadly put it back in it's box.
So now, not much richer, or wiser, I use a digital camera. The techniques are different and the possibilities are fantastic and exciting... but it's still about Looking at the World and sometimes if I'm lucky seeing something that takes my breath away....
