I often see her taking photos and I try and guess what shot she is going for… I am always wrong but always pleasantly surprised. Caroline's eye -- for composition, for color, for geometry -- manages almost by magic to transform the world -- Caroline's world -- into something else. chains, flowers, billboards, cracked mirrors, graffiti, a John Lennon murale -- they don't really stay in Caroline's images. they become something different, as you look at them. they make you afraid of blinking; you'll just miss something. Caroline's still lives are incapable to stay still; her smiley stickers seem to be about to wink; and her roller coasters, like haunted dinosaur skeletons, appear to be about to move, and get rid of the cars the way you'd get rid of an obnoxious fly. and her chairs, incredibly enough, do manage to have temper tantrums. these are just some, not nearly all of the things that happen in carolinecohenour's images. the rest you'll have to see for yourself. may the Gods of photography always keep their watchful eyes on her.
