I always wanted to be a girl, and mum wanted one too (to be a little sister for my sister) but she only got me half right. She always told me that - well the little sister bit - she would never have said I was only half right - that was my observation. Perhaps I should reconstruct that sentence lol.

I so wanted to be just like mum and my aunts and I took every opportunity to dress from an early age.

I have a few friends that know the real me now and I stay with them often sometimes going on holiday with them as Caroline.

The first pics i got done - pre digital - they arrived in the post and i rushed through them and was struck by just how much I looked like my mum - all the expressions or smiles or kooky frowney looks were just her and i was just deliriously happy. For microseconds I was imagining showing my family - then the realisation - no not a good idea :-(
