Carlos Ancheta, Barcelona, Venezuela, 1973. Inicia su formación fotográfica en 1993 durante sus estudios en la Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo de la Universidad Central de Venezuela bajo la dirección de Ricardo Ferreiras y ha continuado su formación en la Organización Nelson Garrido (ONG) en Caracas con Nelson Garrido, Liliana Martínez, Alberto García-Alix y el historiador de la fotografía Horacio Fernández. Trabaja con fotografía digital, dedicándose a temas de arquitectura, lo urbano, el paisaje y las fiestas populares.

Sus fotografías han sido seleccionadas en importantes confrontaciones de arte contemporáneo en Venezuela, como el Salón Nacional de Arte Aragua, Salón Pirelli de Jóvenes Artistas convocado por el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Caracas, la Bienal de Artes Plásticas de Puerto La Cruz, Blow Up –8 fotógrafos sobre la ciudad ajena, Galería Artepuy, Caracas, Sintiendo mi ciudad, Facultad de Arquitectura, Universidad Central de Venezuela.

A nivel internacional su nombre ha aparecido en el Premio Internacional de Arte sobre la Reapertura del Ferrocarril Canfranc, Huesca, España, la II Bienal de fotografía de estudiantes de Arquitectura, La Habana y el Salón de Arte Iberoamericano, Museo Kazent, Whastington, D.C

Carlos Ancheta obtuvo el primer premio en la exposición Sintiendo mi ciudad, Caracas, y el premio especial del Jurado en la II Bienal de fotografía estudiantes de Arquitectura, La Habana.

Ancheta works with digital photography to document subjects such as architecture, urban landscapes and folk holidays.

Ancheta's photographs have been selected in important annual exhibitions of contemporary Venezuelan art such as the Salón Nacional de Arte Aragua, Salón Pirelli of Young Artists at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Caracas, and the Puerto La Cruz Biennal of Fine Arts. In addition,
