I had a Canon AE-1 Program old school film camera since the early 1980s, and bought a Canon PowerShot SD550 Digital ELPH in July 2006. I invested in a Canon Rebel XS D-SLR a couple of years ago, and then when my PowerShot SD550 died a horrible death, I replaced it with a Canon PowerShot Elph 110 HS. Although my "pocket digitals" have now become my camera of choice, the limits of its depth-of-field and the lack of a very powerful telephoto mean that I do still take some photos with the Rebel XS. I also take a lot of on-the-fly photos with my iPhone 6s. The old film camera has finally been retired.

I'm also webmaster for an author friend, the multiple Hugo- and Nebula-nominated science fiction author Robert Reed -- Official Website of SF Author Robert Reed and for my Lincoln-based SF club -- Star Base Andromeda, although that site doesn't get updated as frequently as it should.

My wife -- photogREWpher -- and I have both entered our still photos into the Nebraska State Fair photography competition for the past several years (her since 2003, me since 2004), and we've each taken ribbons at one time or another. I've scanned all my 2004-2006 photography entries and digitized them to upload here at Flickr. You can see them all in a Set here on my account. Starting in 2007, all my Fair submissions were digital to start with and have already appeared in my account on Flickr.
