My idea of travel

My Photography

 

For me photography has been an internal as well as external journey. What started as a fascination with birds/wildlife and an intense desire to capture them progressed to a desire to capture landscapes. Then grew the interest with human faces but it developed into the strong urge to tell human stories through my camera.

 

Birds, wildlife, flora, fauna and landscapes will always amaze me but as a photographer those are not the only subjects that holds my interest.

  

 

My icon

 

Many comment and ask about my icon, which is a photograph of a painting entitled 'Ramona' by Christensen Barney.

 

Also known as Cassandra Barney she is one of my favorite contemporary artists because her images capture the souls of heroines, everyday women who have found strength and personal victory in their diverse experiences. Her portraits carry a range of emotion reflective of the events that have shaped their character. Ambiguous and poignant, the women in her painting find strength in their femininity. They are beautiful and strong, because of the complexity of their feminine nature.
