I am a retired principle engineer and a Vietnam Veteran. While in Vietnam I was assigned to the 170th Assault Helicopter Company, where I served as crew chief on a "huey". Not long after I retired and moved to Florida, I became extremely ill. My illness resulted in me being disabled. Candle making has been a distraction, enabling me to manage my pain. I have an outdoor studio, and a large backyard filled with many feathered vocal residents. My outdoor studio makes a lot of sense for me as I have always been active in outdoor activities. I am able to work all but a few days during the year. Sometimes it is just too cold to make candles. My store "Candles by Donald" is open all the time, and easy to get to. www.candleguy821.artfire.com An excellent poem (I did not write this poem) to read that describes the job I did while a crew chief in Vietnam, I was "a man in the doorway" here is the link www.youtube.com/watch?v=fq0vFuIcOac

I have a Blog at www.candleguy821.blogspot.com This is a view into my life as well as some interesting short features about almost anything. Enjoy my underwater adventures and my photo's of Vietnam during my tour 1966-1967.

There are some short stories on Squidoo about my tour in Vietnam and about my first job after graduating from high school. Here are some links to those short stories:
