The Camp Mission

To give kids with serious illnesses and their families a chance to discover the healing power of laughter and the sheer joy of play, that sickness has too long denied them, by providing camping experiences filled with excitement, challenge and fun in a medically safe setting - all at no charge to the children or families

The value of camp was beautifully articulated by one of our camper parents who said "Camp is an authentic community founded on the simple concepts of kindness, compassion and unconditional acceptance: a safe haven without limitations.... an escape millions of miles away from the harsh reality of a life spent in fear of the next needle, hospital visit or brain seizure... Camp cares for the body, cures the heart and allows the soal to soar to new heights of happiness."

Programs

The Camp Soaring Eagle Foundation provides camping experiences to children and family members from across Arizona with chronic and life threatening illnesses. Camp Soaring Eagle delivers the healing power of laughter through three different program offerings: Camper Weekends, Family Retreats, and the Flying with Camp Soaring Eagle Travel Programs.

Camper Weekends: Illness specific campers weekends are held throughout the year at various locations in Northern Arizona which provide our campers with a necessary escape from the valley heat. Campers travel by motorcoach from Phoenix on Friday afternoons with their fellow campers, counselors and medical staff to camp where they enjoy a weekend with their peers, sharing experiences, trying new things and most importantly just being kids.

Family Retreat: The Family Retreat programs provide an important forum where families who are struggling with childhood illnesses can share their challenges and successes with others in similar situations.

Flying with Camp Soaring Eagle Travel Programs: These programs give our older campers the opportunity to truly spread their wings and meet kids like themselves from around the world who face the same challenges they do. Campers, volunteers and medical personnel travel to some of the finest medically based camps in the country for these travel sessions.

Our campers are able to participate in Camp Soaring Eagle programs because of the comprehensive medical care that is provided. Camp Soaring Eagle maintains a 1:1 camper counselor ratio and offers 24 hour medical care.

Children from Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah will experience the healing power of laughter completely free of charge in beautiful Sedona, Arizona.
