The Cambridge Room houses the Cambridge Public Library’s Archives and Special Collections and provides a range of services about all things Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Our rich research materials includes over 150 collections, spanning the 17th to 21st Centuries, featuring the history of Cambridge, Massachusetts. The majority of the Cambridge Room collections focus on the political and social history of the City and are particularly strong in the mid-20th Century to the present.

Our genealogy resources include our Historic Cambridge Newspaper Collection and Cambridge City Directories (both available online). Also, the Cambridge Room has a substantial online digital collection freely accessible.
