Jacque was my very first cake friend and what a welcome one she was!! She found me on Cake Central – we live quite near each other – we met for breakfast and she’s been an awesome friend since. Jacque is an artist’s artist!! She can paint, sculpt and bring such life and light to the simplest of items. Her cakes and fantastic sugar art – teacups, mice, flowers, figures, everything!! – are borne from such a clever, creative and playful spirit. Everything Jacque does – including her fabulous photography – is just over-the-top excellent and she has such a wide range of creative vision, from ultra elegant and sophisticated, to crazy mind-boggling carving to her amazing way of telling a story right there on the cake (Winnie the Pooh and Super Mario Brothers). Jacque and I rarely talk that both of us don’t end up laughing hysterically. She’s such an intelligent, creative, artistic, beautiful, sweet, kind, resourceful, helpful and hilariously funny person and I’m so grateful she guided our stars to meet. More than a few times, she’s guided me through some murky, snark-infested (yes, that’s right, snark) sugar waters to safety on the other side. Sometimes, she and I together are the blind leading the blind, but we always make it home with fun stories and lots and lots of laughs.
