i remember the very beginning of my sophomore year i was browsing on flickr for a photo i needed for an english project. your stream was one of the ones i came upon somehow, and i remember sitting there the entire hour and looking through every single photo in your 365 project that you had so far. i was blown away.. i didn't have a flickr then. i had messed around with photography before, but never done anything like you had. i started doing more playing around with my mom's camera after that, and i got a flickr. and after all this time i sill love all your photos, even the ones i have looked at probably a thousand times. they're so genuine and honest. you've now inspired me to start film, and it's an understatement to say you have me hooked. i loooooove it. you have grown so much since you first started, and have become an inspiration to many, many people. you really don't know how good you are, joe. it'll be amazing when you're older and you and your friends look back at the photos you took when you were younger. you are documenting your life in the most beautiful way possible, keep doing this always

I've been rewriting your testimonial for days now which is interesting for I am against this whole idea-giving people little trophies to put upon their invisible shelves-but for you Joe, people should see the impact you've made on me. I followed your photography casually before I ever "added you as a contact", then I fell off the website for a bit, and one day followed a link of a truly magnificent photograph only to find that it was your work. You grew so fast. I didn't recognize your stream when I revisited after that break. And you scare me to death because of that sudden and rapid growth, so much so that I find myself avoiding your stream at times because you have successfully become one of those artists who makes me feel old. You are years younger than me, yet I look up to your work so often and its mind blowing to think of the things you are capable of if this is where you are right now. Now throw photography aside for a moment. Joe, you're so good. You're heart and genuine nature are so rare nowadays-do whatever you can to never lose who you are right now. Continue to cherish everything around you and please never lose the tenderness you have towards others. Wow, now I do sound like an old woman with how I am coaching you in "life lessons" but try to look beyond everything cliche about this letter and realize I do mean it. You mentioned that little note I wrote to you, so I do end with that, and I mean it to describe not just you're art but you as a complete inspiration. So I've been staring at this screen for a good amount of time now, trying to come up with the perfect words to describe Joe's photography. And really, that's just it--words are hardly adequate to describe his work. Yes, his photos have gorgeous tones, colors, focus, lighting, composition. Joe's a master at all of that, but there's a lot more to it. Every one of his photos evokes such powerful, raw emotion that make your jaw drop. You can't help but feel something when you look at his photos, because they are just so amazing and deep and strong and I could go on forever. It's hard to describe, really, so if you're reading this and you HAVEN'T seen Joe's photostream, then STOP READING and go and look at his photos! Seriously, you will be blown away, and you'll be in the same position as I am--unable to find the right words that would do justice to his photography.
