The hospital was began as Bwindi Community Health centre when it started in 2003 and is located in a rural area in southwestern Uganda, In 2008 it has grown to be recognized as a hospital and the name has since then canged to Bwindi Community Hospital. It serves more than 20,000 people annually. The hospital employes 121 staff. The hospital spends $834,780 a year to run. 84% is from donations.
