Hi and thanks for visiting my profile!

Photography didn't play much part in my life until I got a Canon A640 in December '06, until then I'd had a series of small film cameras. My first digital was a Nikon 2100 (loved that), then a Olympus c-8080, an excellent camera but not what I really wanted, which turned out to be something with hi-res but could fit in the pocket, a Canon A640.

My current photo voyage started out as project to learn about the wildlife I saw around me but I hadn't been taking it all that seriously until I joined Flickr. Before that I would just see things and think "oh that's interesting", point the camera at it and hope for the best. Since joining I've decided that I need to raise my game a bit!

Since then I've found that photography has helped me rediscover the place I live, which as you can see from my photostream is very beautiful. You get used to anything after a while though - photography has changed that for me.

Please check out the galleries of those that leave comments, some of mine aren't that brilliant, they're just "records" but a lot of the people that stop by have awesome photostreams!
