I grew up near Chicago USA, and I was an illustrator and graphic designer when I lived in Sacramento, California, from 1976-1995. Since 1995, I've lived in SE Asia, teaching art & design in colleges in Malaysia, Singapore, and Manila, Philippines. Until August 2017, I was teaching in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, but now I have moved to picturesque Penang, Malaysia. I still continue to create illustration work, and my passion as an artist is now to record my surroundings by sketching as much as possible. During my 26 years in Asia, I've been fortunate to sketch in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Japan and the Philippines. I sketch with the Urban Sketchers Singapore and Urban Sketchers Penang groups.
