The way our world is going one day only images like yours will remind us they were once our companions here on this earth. I do what I can to chronicle the creatures I pass on my life's journey but it pales in comparison to your skills, travels and keen eye to find unique creatures. I always enjoy seeing Marcus' latest photos. I would like to believe that my photography is decent, as I am always striving for the best shot I can of each species I encounter, but his are superb. and humble me time and again. What I especially love is the exposure his photos give me into a world of regional organismal diversity I would otherwise be largely unaware of. Perhaps as a biology professor I should be aware of some of this diversity, indeed. But I have little time to explore it myself, and the photos by Marcus are largely a daily education reminder of what I do not know about Indonesia.

I especially enjoy his incredible shots of tiny creatures that nobody else would even bother to look at closely, and even less to spend time photographing them. He probably has one of the best photographic archives of Singapore wildlife.
