(a copy of my post on Rangefinder Forum) I first saw Bud's posts here on RFF when I was wet behind the ears with my C-four. Then I sort of went wild on flickr for years (plural, time flies!) and added him as a contact along the way. I love the way his style never changes. That's the key to being great I think. You see a photo and you can tell if it's a Bud Green photo. While I employ a widely shotgun approach to bad photography, Bud is a focused guy! The way he makes Tri-X and whatever developer he choses to behave like he does is amazing to me. That and his ablity to see the dark/light relationship in a composition required to make good b&w photos is something most of us can learn from.
Read lessIt is not hard to see that Bud has good photographic vision and is talented. What I appreciate most, however, is that he is selective. He thinks about what to present; a photography equivalent of "slow food".
Intimate, classic and timeless. Beautiful and touching images that convey a very strong sense of love.
He has a testimonial from Beniliam.. that is like being knighted.. Bud's work has his own style.. He captures everyday scenes of his family with excellent light and composition. Nothing appears posed. He turns the ordinary into art.. I am a big fan.

Wieso vermitteln diese Bilder uns mehr Gefühle als so mancher Film es vermag? Ich habe darauf keine Antwort; nehmen wir es also einfach hin wie es ist und erfreuen wir uns an diesen Kunstwerken; genießen wir diese Mélange aus Liebe und Melancholie, die uns auf wunderbare Weise aus dem Bildschirm entgegenschwebt.
