Buck Forester in my opinion... is the best photographer on flickr, bar none. First word that comes to mind that descibes him is " Genuine". For whenever he shows up on my site I know without a doubt ...its gotta be good. And what an honor!! His images of the great outdoors is true Americana Living and breathing Artwork. They come alive and i find just by looking at them...takes me there. You truly get the feel for how much he loves the wilderness and animals. Its no wonder people flock to his site after a long absence. Buck you Rock!! His name is Buck, and he likes to photograph. Well, his name is really Brian, and he's an excellent photographer. His mastery of equipment and ability to see a scene exactly as a finished product is second-to-none. Brian makes me want to frequent the Western states far more often than I can afford. He undertakes year-round trips (by land *and* sea; take that, Paul Revere!) and day-hikes in the Western United States, bringing back spectacular images in elegant light. He finds and creates images of often-photographed landmarks with such great quality that one forgets any other images of the place, less his, exist, instilling a desire to match his quality. Truly, one of the great landscape photographers.

What impresses me more than anything is that he does this with film and the images are impeccable. I find myself wondering if he ever takes a bad shot. He probably has a lot of shots that he would never post on Flickr, but the ones he does post are breathtaking.....and that's putting it mildly. You're a true master of landscape photography. I don't think there is any question about it when you look at Buck's photostream. Buck photographs everything from the hard-to-find and hard-to-get-to places to the compositions done so often that they are clichés. No matter what he is shooting, you can count on Buck for a thoughtful composition, powerful colors and capturing a magical moment. Even his mistakes and "problem children" contain genuinely interesting elements. Buck clearly loves photography and it has been my great pleasure to know him and watch him grow for number of years now. (Psssst, Buck, you are one of the reasons I shoot Canon today. Don't tell Doug Dance I said that, though. 8-D)
