Todo empezó con una cámara que compró mi padre en 1977 [www.flickr.com/photos/btorillo/5404817243/in/photostream/...]. Yo tenía 17 años y nunca había tomado interés en la fotografía. Hasta ese día.

 

Desde entonces no he parado de hacer fotos, de todo... Poco a poco fui aprendiendo técnicas y usos, pero lo más importante fue comprender que la herramienta es la luz, no la cámara.

 

Y también que hay que ver fotos para hacer fotos. Ver lo que hacen otros, intentar comprender... ver fotos en la calle, en la casa, en la gente, aunque no haya cámara en ese momento o no se pueda hacer una toma... y ver fotos EN la cámara. Imaginar cómo quedará una vez que esté en el laboratorio... ups... perdón, en la computadora.

 

Y este es el otro hito en mi vida fotográfica, dar el salto a lo digital. Fue complicado y ha sido una aventura. Pero aprendo... aprendo todos los días. Y sigo.

 

En enero de 2010 decidí dar un giro y hacer de la fotografía mi fuente de ingresos principal... Después de 33 años de ser aficionado (uno muy serio, eso sí), empecé a hacer de esto un trabajo.

 

¡Lo mejor es que me apasiona! Hoy ya en 2019, han sido 42 años de hacer fotos.

 

Gracias por venir y tener la paciencia de leer todo esto, pero más agradezco que veas mi trabajo, que me digas que piensas de él y que compartas lo que te parezca que vale la pena.

It all started with a camera that my father bought in 1977 [ www.flickr.com/photos/btorillo / 5404817243 / in / photostream / ... ]. I was 17 years old and had never taken an interest in photography. Until that day.

 

Since then I have not stopped making picture, of everything... Step by step I was learning techniques and uses, but the most important thing was to understand that light is the tool, not the camera.

 

And also that you have to see photos to take photos. See what others do, try to understand... see photos on the street, in the house, in people, even if there is no camera at that moment or you can't make a shot... and see photos ON camera. Imagine how it will be once you're in the lab... oops ... sorry, on the computer.

 

And this is the other milestone in my photographic life, making the leap to digital. It was complicated and it has been an adventure. But I learn... I learn every day. And I continue.

 

In January of 2010 I decided to turn and make photography my main source of income... After 33 years of being an amateur (a very serious one, that is), I started to make this a job.

 

The best thing is that I love it! Today in 2019, it has been 42 years of making photos.
