I started taking photography seriously in high school when I turned 16 and was able to take our school Dark Room Photography class. The next year I took the advanced course and chose to do Digital Photography. So with little knowledge and a great little camera, the Minolta Dimage 7, I started learning about color and photo manipulation. Fast forward a few years to when I was 21 and I picked up the Nikon D200 with a 60mm 2.8 macro lens. Some of the photos I took with that camera are still in my Showcase on this site today. At 21 also I went to Alaska with the National Outdoor Leadership School. What I learned there relating to photography is you can still get great photos with a little knowledge and compelling subject despite limited gear, Nikon S1. I came back and decided to go to the Brown Institute to study photography. Four years later I left without a degree but did learn a lot about creating images more than just capturing them. I went to DMACC in 2013 for photography briefly and left. I've now come back to DMACC in 2018 majoring in Photography and Video Production.
