Bryan Barnes is an artist based out of San Diego, California. His work is a sharp contrast to that of the sunny weather found on the West Coast. Much of his subject matter could possibly be considered dark and morose in tone, but upon further inspection, a keen sense of detail, spirituality and optimism is shown.
Bryan was born in Brea in 1979 and raised in Temecula. Originally on a basketball scholarship to California State University, San Bernardino, he decided to pursue art (and studies) full time to further focus on his artistic passions in life. He is has been featured in Bizarre Magazine, Pit Magazine and 944 Magazine while showcasing his work in fine art galleries across the country.
“My artwork is a dark sexy traumatic roller coaster ride through visions of vanity, insecurity, obsession, eternity and lust. Constant themes held within the artworks are symbolisms of hope, spirituality, optimism, power of self and the beauty of the divine. It’s my goal to make the viewer of the artwork take a step back and sincerely think what is presented in from of them.”
First came the trumpet. Then came the sound. The stage will be set to fire. Creation awaits….
