A Zenit 3M was my first serious SLR camera, back in the 1960's.

When I say "serious", I mean "it was a bit of a joke, but it was mine and it was an SLR, and it was c-h-e-a-p".

All this to say I've been a photo-hobbyist for an awful long time and I ought to know better.
