My name is Stefan Zahariev. I am 35 years old. I was born and now live in the City of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.

Bulgaria is a mountainous country - almost half of its territory is occupied by mountains and mountain formations. I capture their unique beauty when I grasped the camera seven years ago.

I spend most of my free time in the mountains. Despite all of the difficulties I usually experience up there, I still find them the most peaceful and powerful place on Earth.

I am a HVAC engineer with long-standing professional experience, but recently I’ve changed course – I have completed professional mountain guide course and I'm a qualified Mountain Guide now. What urges me is the desire to seek and find the beauty of the moment. The fresh cold air is my drug.

I am constantly challenging myself. Winter is my favorite season. I am inspired by the gentle curves of the surface, lying under tons of snow, how the wind shapes the ice over crest and summits, the magic blue hour. I love to make the first steps in the snow – like an artist, who’s painting on a white canvas I transform the landscape into a painting with every single step. I joined the flickr community of artists, just to share - in the form of photographs – my feelings, thoughts and experience. I hope you’ll be fascinated.
