My name is Jarob Ortiz. I was formally trained in photography at the Milwaukee Area Technical College in Milwaukee, WI. The focus of my photography is mainly architecture, people, and landscapes/nature.

I've also been formally trained in film scanning (drum scanners, imacon scanners, and flatbed scanners), color correction/management, and photographic printing. I've done a lot of darkroom printing in the past, but have now converted to color inkjet printing, Piezography b&w printing, and sublimation printing onto metal.

My day job - I currently work for the Heritage Documentation Programs (HABS, HAER, HALS) with the National Park Service in Washington D.C. as the large format staff photographer. I spend my days shooting historic architecture, engineering feats, and landscapes with 4x5 and 5x7 view cameras on black and white film and color transparency film. When I'm not out shooting, I'm in the darkroom developing film, scanning film, and printing images for submittal to the Library of Congress. I absolutely love every last minute of the whole process :)

LeavenworthObey (Jarob) is a fine photographer. I like visiting his photostream as every image accompanied by useful notes. I can learn a lot from his technical aspect of photography and at the same time enjoying the beauty of his captures.
