We are losing our sense of place. We photographers travel the world looking for the right image and often ignore the beauty in our backyards.

 

Several years ago, when I was sorting through several hundred photos taken on a trip to Scotland, I realized that my photographic work was mostly family events and travel shots that had little real meaning to me. I began walkabouts through my neighborhood and was quickly hooked.
