I have many, many hobbies: family and friends, transportation, slot cars, history, travel, computers, and reading. Most of my current photography is done with an Olympus EM1 Mark III and an Olympus OM-1, plus an iPhone 14 Pro. My scanning of negatives and slides is currently being done on an Epson Perfection V600 after I retired my Minolta Dimage Scan Dual III.
I started as a "M*A*S*H" type photographer in 1973 doing school portrait photography, sometimes up to 600 students per day. I had bought a Minolta SRT-101 while in college, and started to make the shift from home movies to still photography. I did get to freelance a few years at Pocono Raceway in the 1970's for the now-gone Easton Express newspaper. I hit a point where I did not want a camera in my hand while single, working 90 hour weeks, and running the sales, management, and doing daily photography in the schools. When I finally married in my 40's, I started to get back into point and shoot photography with film and then digital, but it was not until I bought my first digital DSLR, an Olympus E-500 that I really got back into this hobby. Now I often have one of my cameras with me on my morning walks, when volunteering at America On Wheels Transportation Museum, when with family (especially the grandkids), at local events, and when traveling.
