I've started shooting for fun about seven years ago when I got my first digital camera. (Shot with film a time or two before that, but processing film and the old way of shooting never really took off for me.) People started responding to what I was doing and eventually started getting offers to actually get paid to shoot.
I recently switched to NIkon for what I feel is its better autofocus abilities. I have also subsequently caught attitude from Canon shooters I don't even know because of it; a real sore point for me. Unfortunately most Flickr forums prohibit brand debates even though I just want to know what's up with the attitude. Anyway, in my opinion, it's about what you produce in the end, not the brand. Sad that people will judge you by something like that.
