I'm a photographer and traveler; bike rider and master of public transit. I've made my way from the East Coast of the United States to the West coast – downtown Portland, Ore. I've been with Flickr since it was an independent service, before smartphones, before Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, before the term “social media” existed. It was before Yahoo bought Flickr for the misguided intention of mining the user data. I made money through Flickr licensing pictures for commercial and editorial use. McCann-Erickson found me for their Nikon ad through Flickr.

Since 2011 I’ve been volunteer staff of the Burning Man communications as part of Media Mecca, their … well, it’s akin to a mix of community outreach and media relations.

In the time since I started this Flickr account, I've held staff and freelance news photographer positions, I've done commercial photography, I was a photo editor for two student newspapers, I earned multiple awards for excellence awards for excellence, I was a photographer and editor small wire service, briefly a photo editor for a foreign wire service, I shot travel and artistic things; film and digital cameras, pre-smartphone cell phone cameras. I’ve moved a zillion times to multiple places in 4 states, I was an Air Force reservist (433rd Airlift Wing public affairs, Joint Base Lackland), I got married, my adoptive parents died (bio father died, bio mother is still alive), my oldest friend in the world died, half sister I never met died, a photographer friend here in Portland died, I graduated with a bachelor of science in communication studies from Portland State University, my 4th school.
