I got back into photography (and picked up my first DSLR) after my Mom started to show more advanced signs of Alzheimer'sin 2007, and began spending more time in the house and unable to get out.

I wanted to capture pictures of her grand kids and my sister and her husband, not to mention pictures of my parents while they were still here.

Well, my Mom passed away January 10th 2010, on a cold, sunny Sunday morning; my Dad 4 years later from cancer, and now photography reminds me of them both, and sort of keeps me closer to their memory; not in a sad way, but in an "If you could see what I see" way (whether with the eye or the imagination). As it turns out, I think that's a pretty good philosophy for photography; don't you think?
