The idea for BreakingPoint came to us in our past lives as network equipment developers. We tested using existing network test tools and realized we could never be sure how our products would perform in the real world—what was the “breaking point?” The products we designed passed the tests offered by legacy testing tools, but once deployed in an enterprise environment, they failed. And, that slowed down product adoption, revenue, and profitability. What we needed was a testing platform that simulated a realistic enterprise network environment to help us accelerate the development of high performance, reliable products.
